Field Notes - This Heron was a challenge to shoot. I was a fair distance from him and there was a small dune between us. His head always seemed to be behind the dune so I tried "chirping" like a baby gator in distress and, immediately, up pops his head, sensing a easy meal. I did this several times with the same results and it allowed me to get the image I wanted.
